Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges of the stack on a level surface. 6 Place the paper against the back of the tray, print side up. Do not load bent or wrinkled paper. Warning! Do not exceed the maximum stack height indicated on the tray. Overfilling may cause jams. 7 Slide the side guides until they lightly touch the stack of paper. Loading 250-sheet trays Follow these instructions to load paper into a 250-sheet tray. Loading letter, A4, A5, or JIS B5 size paper Follow these instructions to load paper that is long-edge fed into the printer. 1 Remove the tray, and then set it on a flat surface. 2 Remove the tray cover. 3 Squeeze the front guide lever and slide the guide to the front of the tray. 8 Squeeze the front guide lever and slide it back until it touches the stack of paper. The guide should be aligned with the correct indicator for the paper size loaded. Make sure the edges of the paper fit underneath the extension on the front guide. 9 Replace the tray cover. 10 Insert the tray. 11 Adjust the paper size dial to match the size of the paper loaded in the tray. 12 Select the paper type and source from the operator panel. You will also need to select the paper size, type, and source from your software application when you send a job to print. Loading A3, JIS B4, legal, 8.5x13, or 11x17 size paper Follow these instructions to load paper that is short-edge fed into the printer. 1 Remove the tray, and then set it on a flat surface. 2 Remove the tray cover. 3 Slide the locking mechanisms on the left and right sides of the tray inward to unlock the extension. Universal Warning! Paper jams or errors may occur if the paper size dial is set incorrectly. 4 Pull the extension out until it stops. 5 Slide the locking mechanisms outward to lock the extension in place. 6 Follow steps 3 through 12 under "Loading letter, A4, A5, or JIS B5 size paper" to finish loading the tray.

Loading 250-sheet trays
Follow these instructions to load paper into a 250-sheet tray.
Loading letter, A4, A5, or JIS B5 size paper
Follow these instructions to load paper that is long-edge fed into the
printer.

Remove the tray, and then set it on a flat surface.

Remove the tray cover.

Squeeze the front guide lever and slide the guide to the front of
the tray.

Slide the side guides toward the edges of the tray.

Flex the sheets back and forth to loosen them, and then fan
them.
Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges of the
stack on a level surface.

Place the paper against the back of the tray, print side up.
Do not load bent or wrinkled paper.
Warning!
Do not exceed the maximum stack height indicated
on the tray. Overfilling may cause jams.

size paper
Follow these instructions to load paper that is short-edge fed into
the printer.

Remove the tray, and then set it on a flat surface.

Remove the tray cover.

Slide the locking mechanisms on the left and right sides of the
tray inward to unlock the extension.

Pull the extension out until it stops.
5
Slide the locking mechanisms outward to lock the extension in
place.

Follow steps 3 through 12 under
“Loading letter, A4, A5, or
JIS B5 size paper”
to finish loading the tray.
