COOKTOP FEATURES Power™ Burner Use the Power™ burner for boiling liquids quickly, cooking large quantities of food, or searing. The Power™ burner is located at the left rear of the cooktop on 30" models and is the center burner on 36" models. Power Simmer Dual Stacked Burner (MGC9536 model only) This center burner has the flexibility of two burners in one, providing heat ranges from powerful boiling to precise simmering. ■ Power: Select "Hi" for preparing large quantities of food or to boil liquids quickly. For best results, rotate the knob to "Hi" in the "Power" range. ■ Simmer: Use Simmer to slowly cook foods or to hold a simmer. For best results, rotate the knob to "Lo" in the "Simmer" range. Simmer Burner The Simmer burner is for simmering sauces. Position the knob between "Melt" and "Hi," depending upon the desired simmer level. Melt Cap NOTE: The melt cap is available on MGC9 series models only. For melting chocolate or butter or an even more delicate simmer, the melt cap can be used in place of the standard burner cap on the smallest burner. Remove the small burner cap and replace it with the larger melt cap for delicate simmering. For melting, use the melt cap and rotate the knob to the "Melt" position. For less delicate simmering, use the small cap. Power Simmer Dual Stacked Burner A. Simmer range B. Power range DuraGuard™ Finish The easy to clean DuraGuard™ finish helps keep your cooktop looking new and bright. DuraGuard™ finish preserves stainless steel by avoiding staining, discoloration and yellowing, while making even baked-on soils easier to clean. Stainless steel with DuraGuard™ finish should be cleaned the same way as traditional stainless steel. A soft cloth or non-scratch sponge and warm soapy water will remove most food soils.
