TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service: Symptom Radio Noise or sound distorted on radio broadcasts. FM ST indicator does not light. AM or FM, no sound. Compact Disc Player CD Player will not play. CD skips while playing. General No power. Remote not working. Possible Cause Station not tuned properly for AM or FM. AM: Unit is not positioned correctly. FM: Wire antenna is not extended. Poor or no FM signal being received. ST/MO button not set to STEREO. TUNER is not selected. Volume at minimum. CD is not selected. CD is not installed or is installed incorrectly. Disc is dirty or scratched. AC power cord is not connected. Battery not inserted, or inserted incorrectly. Solution Retune the AM or FM broadcast station. Rotate unit for best reception. Extend FM wire antenna. Retune station or try another station that broadcasts in stereo. Press to select STEREO. Press the TUNER Function button to select Tuner. Increase volume. Press the CD Function button to select CD. Insert CD with label facing forward. Wipe disc with cloth or use another disc.
