10 - 2 Symbol LS2208 Product Reference Guide Connecting Using Undecoded Scanner Emulation To perform undecoded scanner emulation, connect the scanner to a portable data terminal, or a controller which collects the data and interprets it for the host. Host Port Connector Interface cable Figure 10-1 Undecoded Scanner Emulation Connection 1. Connect the undecoded interface cable to the bottom of the scanner, as described in Installing the Interface Cable on page 1-3. 2. Connect the other end of the interface cable to the scanner port on the portable data terminal or controller. 3. Scan the appropriate bar codes in this chapter to configure the scanner. CAUTION Connect the scanner to 5 volt decoders only. Connecting the scanner to a 12 volt decoder invalidates the warranty.
