Regular Tap method cycles through the letters and numbers of the key you press. Tap Extended method also cycles through additional symbols. 1 Press a keypad key one or more times to cycle to the desired letter, number, or symbol. 2 Repeat the step above to enter all characters. Tip: Press S right to accept a word completion, or # to insert a space. In a text entry screen, you can press * to switch entry methods. If Tap or Tap Extended is not available as the Primary or Secondary entry method, see page 35. When you enter three or more characters in a row, your phone may guess the rest of the word.
