The adapter connects to the network, which can take a minute or two. The Smart Wizard Settings screen displays. Your settings are saved in a profile, which you can name. The icon appears in the system tray and on the desktop. You can use it to open the Smart Wizard to make changes or connect to a different wireless network. 6

Smart Wizard Installation	3
1. Insert the Resource CD in your computer’s CD drive. If the CD main screen does not display, browse the files on the CD and double-click Autorun.exe.	3
2. Click Setup. The Software Update Check screen displays.	3
3. If you are connected to the Internet, click Check for Updates. If not, then click Install from CD.	3
4. Accept the license agreement.	3
5. On the Setup Type screen, for Express (recommended) setup, click Next.	4

1. Insert the Resource CD in your computer’s CD drive. If the CD main screen does not display, browse the files on the CD and double-click Autorun.exe.	4
2. Click Next. The WNA1000M software detects the adapter.	5

Standalone Driver Installation	7

3. When prompted, either insert the adapter into a USB port on your computer, or connect it with the USB cable that came in the package.	7

Adapter is not detected by the system	9
1. Make sure you meet the minimum system requirements for the adapter and have the latest updates on the computer.	9
2. Use the latest driver for the adapter. Look for the latest drivers on the NETGEAR download page.	9
3. Try a different USB port on the computer.	9
4. Try another device and check if it is detected.	9
5. Try to connect the adapter directly to the computer without using an extension cable.	9
6. Try restarting the computer or try the adapter on a different computer.	9
I can’t install drivers for my wireless adapter	10
1. Check with the firewall or antivirus software company to see if there is an update that addresses this issue.	10
2. Uninstall the driver for the wireless adapter.	10
