Custom Controls for Portrait Photography l y Active D­‑Lighting Active D‑Lighting can be adjusted by holding the button and rotating a command dial, easing the task of photographing subjects in high-contrast settings, as for example when framing a sunlit subject through a window from inside a darkened room or photographing subjects on a beach in direct sunlight. l Shooting Mode > p Zoom On/Off Use the J button to quickly zoom the display in on the area around the current focus point and check focus before shooting. You'll find this particularly useful for improved focus when using manual focus in situations in which the camera has difficulty focusing using autofocus.
