Step 3 Focus and Shoot 1 Press the shutter-release button halfway. • Press halfway (A 11) to focus. When the subject is in focus, the focus area will glow green. When people's faces (front view) are recognized: When shooting nonhuman subjects or when no faces are recognized: Basic Photography and Playback: Easy Auto Mode 1/125 F3.1 Shutter Aperture Speed 1/125 F3.1 • When using the digital zoom, the camera focuses on the center of the frame, but the focus area is not displayed. Focus indicator 1/125 F3.1 • The shutter speed and aperture are displayed when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. • Focus and exposure remain locked while the shutter release button is pressed halfway. • When the camera is unable to focus, the focus area, or focus indicator, blinks red. Change the composition and try again. 2 Press the shutter-release button the rest of the way down. • The picture will be recorded to the memory card or internal memory. 22
