Greeting message When the unit answers a call, a greeting message is played to callers. You can use either: - your own greeting message - a pre-recorded greeting message Recording your greeting message 1 {MENU} 2 {V}/{^}: "Answering device" i {OK} 3 {V}/{^}: "Greeting" i {OK} 4 {V}/{^}: "Record greeting" i {OK} 5 {V}/{^}: "Yes" i {OK} 6 After a beep sounds, hold the handset about 20 cm (8 inches) away and speak clearly into the microphone (2 minutes max.). 7 Press {OK} to stop recording. 8 {OFF} Using a pre-recorded greeting message If you erase or do not record your own greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded greeting asking callers to leave a message. Resetting to a pre-recorded greeting message If you want to use a pre-recorded greeting message once you record your own greeting message, you need to erase your own greeting message. 1 {MENU} 2 {V}/{^}: "Answering device" i {OK} 3 {V}/{^}: "Greeting" i {OK} 4 {V}/{^}: "Pre-recorded" i {OK} 5 {OK} i {OFF} Playing back the greeting message 1 {MENU} 2 {V}/{^}: "Answering device" i {OK} 3 {V}/{^}: "Greeting" i {OK} 4 {V}/{^}: "Check greeting" i {OK} 5 {OFF} Listening to messages using the base unit When new messages have been recorded, the message indicator on the base unit flashes. Press {6}. L If new messages have been recorded, the base unit plays back new messages. L If there are no new messages, the base unit plays back all messages.
