Operations Cordless handset Problem Cause & solution The handset does not work. q Make sure that the battery is installed correctly (p. 73). q Charge the battery fully (p. 22). q Clean the charge contacts and charge again (p. 22). The handset does not ring. q The ringer volume is set to off. Press LOUD/RINGER (p. 24). An alarm tone sounds when I press TALK or REMOTE SP . q The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer and try again. q Place the handset on the base unit and try again. q The power cord is disconnected. Plug in the power cord.
