What is the AJ-HPX3100?

The HPX3100 is the world’s only

1080p native 2.2 megapixel 2/3" 3-CCD camcorder at under $20k

. This

compact, shoulder mount HD camcorder includes all of the features and image performance of the AJ-HPX3000,

but, in a compact body – closer to the size of the HPX370.

Even better, the HPX3100 adds new features, including

24 bit audio recording, optional wireless metadata input and optional high-resolution proxy.

The HPX3100 uses a 2.2 megapixel 2/3" 3-CCD imager.

What new features does the HPX3100 provide?

The HPX3100 offers many new features, including 24 bit audio recording (* in AVC-Intra mode).

In addition, the

HPX3100 offers optional wireless metadata input capability and a new, optional high-resolution proxy.

Is the HPX3100 HD/SD compatible?

Yes.

What compression formats does the HPX3100 offer?

The AJ-HPX3100 captures in full-raster 1920 x 1080 resolution, including

4:2:2 10-bit color sampling with AVC-Intra 100.

It also offers storage-efficient

AVC-Intra 50, industry-standard DVCPRO HD and SD recording in the

DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV formats.

Does the HPX3100 offer world-wide format support?

Yes. It supports world-wide

HD / SD frame rates and formats, including 1080

23.98p/25p/29.97p as well as 1080 50i/59.94i.

What about audio support?

The 3100 supports 24-bit / 4ch audio (based on compression format). Here is

What is high-resolution proxy?

With the optional *AJ-YDX30 Proxy Board the HPX3100 records proxy video at selectable bit rates up to 3.5 Mbps

on SD memory cards, while it simultaneously records video on P2 cards. Even better, this new proxy format

supports uncompressed audio.

Use proxy for enhanced production workflows, essentially lending an instant off-line

file(s) for logging, review and edit on leading *NLE’s. This is especially useful for high shoot-ratio projects including

Reality TV and long form production.
