(Excluding Sound Field Control) ≥You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound field systems are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound field system off. ≥If you turn on Super Surround, Dolby Pro Logic II is canceled and vice versa. C.FOCUS SFC Sound Field Control Changes the sound quality. Press [SFC]. Each time you press the button: FLAT: Cancel (no effect is added) (factory preset). HEAVY: Adds punch to rock. CLEAR: Clarifies higher sounds. SOFT: For background music. DISCO: Reverberates sound to make you feel like you are in a disco. LIVE: Makes vocals more alive. HALL: Expands sound to make you feel like you are in a hall. To check the current setting Press [SFC]. SHIFT SUPER SRND H.BASS Super Surround Adds surround effects to stereo sound. Press [SHIFT]i[SUPER SRND]. Each time you press the button: MUSIC: Adds surround effects to stereo ED T G S.SRND D.MIX SL sources. MOVIE: Use this mode when playing mW ovie software. PARTY: Sound is in stereo regardless of the direction you are facing. OFF: Cancel ≥You can adjust the volume of the surround speakers to get the best surround effect (➜ page 31, Speaker level adjustments). RQT7972 ≥Super Surround does not work when playing a DVD recorded with 30 a multi-channel source. SHIFT C.FOCUS SFC Center Focus (Discs where the dialogue is recorded in the center channel) You can make the sound of the center speaker seem like it is coming from within the television. Press [SHIFT]i[C.FOCUS]. MIX 2CH PL Dolby Pro Logic II Dolby Pro Logic II is an advanced decoder that derives 5-channel surround (Left and Right Front, Center, Left and Right Surround) from any stereo program material, whether or not it has been specifically Dolby Surround encoded. Press [ÎPLII]. Each time you press the button: MOVIE: Movie software, recorded in Dolby Surround. MUSIC: Stereo sources OFF: Cancel DIGITAL DISC TUNED PL DTS CD MODE RDS PS PTY W DVD RAM ≥This works only in DVD/CD mode. ≥"ÎPLII" lights when there is effect. SHIFT MIX 2CH PL Down-mixing You can output the down-mixed 2 channel signals when necessary. Press [SHIFT]i[MIX 2CH]. [DVD-A] SUPER SRND H.BASS Enhancing the bass sound You can enhance low-frequency sound so that heavy bass sound can be heard clearly, even if the acoustics of your room are not optimal.
