The power is turned OFF when the main switch is set to OFF. • When the power is turned on with the Auto picture or Picture Mode set, the mode dial lights up progressively. To cancel this function, set the mode dial to [no)] and reinstall the battery. To light up the mode dial again, the same procedure as cancellation is required. • When not in use, ensure that the main switch is set to OFF. OPERATING THE SHUTTER RELEASE BUTTON The shutter release button has two positions. Depressing it down halfway (first position) turns on the exposure meter and autofocus system. Depressing it fully (second position) releases the shutter. When taking a picture, depress the shutter release button gently to prevent camera shake. • To prevent camera shake, depress the shutter release button gently. • Before loading a roll of film, slowly depress the shutter release button to learn where the first position is. • The LCD indication stays on for about 10 seconds after the button is released from the halfway position.
