Setting the Auxiliary AF Light The auxiliary AF light is convenient when you shoot a dark subject. The function helps you to focus on the subject under the conditions in which the autofocus does not work properly. 4 Use the four-way controller (23) AF Setting to select [Aux. AF Light]. Focusing Area 5 Use the four-way controller (45) Focus Limiter Aux. AF Light to select O (On)/P (Off). 6 Press the shutter release button MENU halfway. The camera is ready to take the picture. 4 The auxiliary AF light of this camera conforms to the safety standard (IEC60825-1) for Class 1 LED product. Looking at the light directly will not create safety hazard. However, do not look into the emitter from a very short distance since you may feel dazzled. The camera does not emit the auxiliary AF light under the following condition: the Capture mode is set to C (Movie) or q (Landscape), or the focus mode is set to pan focus, infinity mode, or manual focus.
