11 Using other functions Reducing the level of an analog signal The input attenuator lowers the input level of an analog signal when it's too strong. Using the sleep timer The sleep timer switches the receiver into standby after a specified amount of time so you can fall asleep without worrying about the receiver being left on all night. Use the remote control to set the sleep timer. Switching the speaker impedance We recommend using speakers of 8 Ω with this system, but it is possible to switch the impedance setting if you plan to use speakers with a 6 Ω impedance rating. Use the front panel controls to do this. • With the receiver in standby, press  STANDBY/ ON while holding down the SPEAKERS button. Each time you do this, you switch between the impedance settings: • Speaker 6 Ω - Use this setting if your speakers are rated at 6 Ω. • Speaker 8 Ω - Use this setting if your speakers are rated at 8 Ω or more. Checking your system settings Use the status display screen to check your current settings for features such as surround back channel processing and your current MCACC preset. The sleep timer switches the receiver into standby after a
specified amount of time so you can fall asleep without
