OPERATION KNOW YOUR CHAIN SAW READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR CHAIN SAW. Chain Front Hand Guard Front Handle Adjustment Tool (Bar Tool) Starter Rope ON/STOP Switch Chain Muffler Primer Bulb Bar Oil Fill Cap Cylinder Cover Starter Housing Throttle Lockout Rear Handle Adjusting Screw Fuel Mix Fill Cap Chain Direction of Travel Throttle Trigger Choke/ Fast Idle Lever Chain Brake Guide Bar Chain Brake Chain Nuts Catcher Bar Sprocket Hole ON/STOP SWITCH The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the engine. THROTTLE TRIGGER The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine speed. THROTTLE LOCK--OUT The THROTTLE LOCK--OUT must be pressed before you can squeeze the throttle trigger. This feature prevents you from acci- dentally squeezing the trigger. CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER The choke and fast idle are set by pulling the CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER out to the full extent for cold starting or after refueling. The choke provides additional fuel to the engine during cold starting. PRIMER BULB The PRIMER BULB circulates fuel to the carburetor to provide quicker starting. CHAIN BRAKE The CHAIN BRAKE is a device designed to stop the chain if kickback occurs. The chain brake activates automatically in the event of kickback. The chain brake activates manually if the front hand guard is pushed forward. The chain brake is disengaged by pulling the front hand guard back toward the front handle as far as possible. CHAIN TENSION It is normal for a new chain to stretch during the first 15 minutes of operation. You should check your chain tension frequently. See CHAIN TENSION under the ASSEMBLY section. WARNING: Muffler is very hot dur- ing and after use. Do not touch the muffler or allow combustible material such as dry grass or fuel to do so. 8

ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the
engine.
THROTTLE TRIGGER
The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine

must
