See step 7 on page 12. CAUTION: If you have heart prob- lems, or if you are over 60 years of age and have been inactive, do not use the pulse programs. If you are taking medication regularly, consult your physician to find whether the medication will affect your exercise heart rate. 8 When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. When the program ends, make sure that the incline of the treadmill is at the lowest setting. Next, remove the key from the console and put it in a safe place. Note: If the display remains lit after the key is removed, the console is in the "demo" mode. See page 21 and turn off the demo mode. When you are finished using the treadmill, switch the reset/off circuit breaker to the "off" position and unplug the power cord. Follow the steps below to use a pulse program. 1 Put on the optional chest pulse sensor. You must wear the optional chest pulse sensor (see page 21) to use a pulse program. 2 Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 10. 3 Select one of the two pulse programs. To select a pulse program, press the Pulse Programs button repeatedly until a "P 7" or "P 8" appears in the right side of the display. If pulse program P 7 is selected, a profile of the target heart rate settings of the program will scroll across the matrix. If pulse program P 8 is selected, a pulse symbol will scroll across the matrix. 14

When you are finished exercising, remove the
key from the console.
When the program ends,
make sure that the in-
cline of the treadmill is at the lowest setting.
Next, remove the key from the console and put it in

HOW TO USE A PULSE PROGRAM
Follow the steps below to use a pulse program.
Put on the optional chest pulse sensor.

(see page 21) to use a pulse program.

Select one of the two pulse programs.
To select a pulse program, press the Pulse
Programs button repeatedly until a “P 7” or “P 8”
appears in the right side of the display.
