OPERATION below 50°F, pull the starter grip until the engine attempts to start, but no more than 5 times. n Push choke lever to RUN position. n Pull starter grip until engine runs. NOTE: Allow the saw to run in this position 15-30 seconds, depending upon the temperature. n Depress the trigger release and squeeze and release the throttle trigger to return the engine to idle after a total run time of at least 30 seconds. CAUTION: Failure to release partial throttle when chain brake lever is in the brake position will result in serious damage to the unit. Never squeeze and hold the throttle trigger while the chain brake is in the brake position. To Start a Warm Engine: n Set the ignition switch to the RUN ( I ) position. n Make sure the chain brake is in the run position by pulling back on the lever/hand guard. n Pull choke lever out to FULL CHOKE position then push immediately back to RUN position to set fast idle. n Pull starter grip until engine runs, but no more than 5 times. If engine does not start after 5 pulls, use cold engine starting procedure. n Squeeze and release the throttle trigger to return the engine to idle.
