Auto Brightness Control (Optional) For computers with an ambient light sensor, the ambient light sensor detects the ambient illumination and automatically controls the LCD brightness accordingly. However, the ambient light sensor only works when the computer is operating on battery power. ► To disable the auto brightness control You can turn the Auto Brightness control function on or off using the Easy ALS Manager program. 1 Click Start( )> All Programs > Accessories > Windows Mobile Center. 2 Click the Turn off ( ) button in the Easy ALS Manager field to turn the Auto Brightness control function off. To turn the sensor on again, click the Turn on ( ) button. ■ The Easy ALS Manager program is optional and may not be provided depending on the computer model. ■ If a user controls the LCD brightness with the keyboard, the Auto Brightness control function is turned off and the brightness set by the user remains until the computer restarts. 147
