Symbol Symbol mode enables you to enter symbols such as @ or % into a text message. 1. In standby mode, press the left soft key ( ) Menu, then press , to compose a new text message. 2. Enter the phone number of the recipient, then press . 3. Press the left soft key ( ) Option to display a pop-up menu containing the following options. T9 Word ABC Symbol 123 Canned The Canned option is initially hidden in the pop-up menu. Use the navigation key to scroll down and select this option. 4. T9 Word is highlighted. Use the navigation key to highlight Symbol, then press . The first of four symbol screens appear in the display. 5. Use the navigation key to page through the other symbols, if desired. 6. Press the key that corresponds with the symbol that you want to enter. For example, press for an exclamation point (!). 7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 to insert as many symbols into your message as desired. 58
