BEFORE TAKING PICTURES Hints for taking pictures Muting the operation sounds i The audio guidance that sounds when you operate the camera can be muted (page 118). Where are the image and audio files saved? i All the image and sound files are recorded on the card installed in the camera, or in the camera's internal memory. Taking pictures in backlight conditions... i When taking pictures with the light coming from behind the subject, due to the characteristics of the lens, ghost patterns (flare phenomenon) may appear in the captured image. In this situation, it is recommended that you avoid taking pictures with the subject lit from behind. While the image files are being recorded... i While the multi-indicator is flashing red, the image files are being written to the memory, during which time it is not possible to capture another image. Another image can be captured after the flashing red indicator turns off. However, even when the multi-indicator is flashing red, depending on the camera's internal memory remaining capacity, in some cases the next image can be captured about 2 seconds after shooting. To use the video clip recording button ([R] button) on the side of the camera... i The side [R] button can be used only for recording video clips. For capturing still images, please use the [O] button. i The [R] button on the side of the camera can be disabled (page 124). i This instruction manual explains how to use the [R] button on the rear of the camera, but the side [R] button operation is the same. 61 English [ ] button
