Before operating the unit, please read this guide thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
Owner’s Record
The serial number is located on the bottom of the product.
Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to them whenever you call upon your
Sony dealer regarding this product.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
This product is not suitable for household room illumination.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not cover the ventilation opening of the appliance with newspapers,
tablecloths, curtains, etc. Do not expose the appliance to naked flame sources (for example,
lighted candles).
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to dripping or splashing,
and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
Do not install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
As the main plug is used to disconnect the USB AC adaptor from the AC power source (mains),
connect it to an easily accessible AC outlet. Should you notice an abnormality in it, disconnect it
from the AC outlet immediately.
The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the
wall outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned off.
Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to excessive heat such as
sunshine, fire or the like for a long time. Do not expose the batteries to extreme low temperature
conditions that may result in overheating and thermal runaway. Do not dismantle, open or shred
secondary cells or batteries. In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in
contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious
amounts of water and seek medical advice. Do not use any charger other than that specifically
provided for use with the equipment. Secondary cells and batteries need to be charged before
use. Always use the correct charger and refer to the manufacturer's instructions or equipment
manual for proper charging instructions. After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to
charge and discharge the cells or batteries several times to obtain maximum performance.
Dispose of properly.

You can help preserve our environment by returning your used rechargeable batteries to the
collection and recycling location nearest you.

Do not subject the unit to strong impact
Do not subject the unit to excessive force or strong impact. A portion of the unit is made of organic
glass. Chipped or broken glass may result in injury. In the case of broken glass, stop use
immediately and be careful not to touch the broken area.

This device complies with part 15 of FCC Rules and Innovation, Science and Economic
Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any
interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Data transmission is always initiated by software, which is the passed down through the MAC,
through the digital and analog baseband, and finally to the RF chip. Several special packets are
initiated by the MAC. These are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF
transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on
only while one of the aforementioned packets is being transmitted. In other words, this unit
automatically discontinues transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or
operational failure.

two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third

provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete outlet.
10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12) Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold
with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus
combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been

Precautions
On safety
• The nameplates are located on the bottom exterior of the unit and the surface of the USB AC
adaptor.
• The MAC address of the Wi-Fi® network is located on the bottom exterior of this unit.
On turning the wireless function on/off
The wireless function of this unit turns on when you turn on the unit by pressing the
(on/
standby) button.
To turn off the wireless function, turn off the unit by pressing the
(on/standby) button.
If you are using the Network Standby function, turn off the Network Standby setting by using
“Sony | Music Center” before turning off this unit.
On temperature rise
• If the unit is used for an extended period of time, the temperature of the unit and the USB AC
adaptor will rise. This is not a malfunction.
On placement
• The speaker unit, built-in amp, and cabinet are precisely tuned. Do not dismantle, modify, etc.
• Do not insert foreign objects from the opening of the speaker unit.
• Do not splash water onto this product and the supplied accessories. Those are not waterproof.
• Do not leave the unit in a place subject to high temperatures, such as direct sunlight, near a heat
source or under lighting equipment.
• Do not use or leave the unit in a car.
• Do not set the unit in an inclined position. Otherwise, the unit’s vibrations may cause it to fall,
leading to a malfunction, damage, or reduced performance.
• Use caution when placing the unit on a specially treated (waxed, oiled, polished, etc.) surface, as
staining or discoloration may result.
• Depending on the placement situation, the unit may fall or drop. Do not leave any valuable
objects near the unit.
• When carrying the unit, be careful of the following.
– Do not leave any objects susceptible to magnetism (cash cards, etc.) near the unit.
– Do not grip the organic glass cylinder.
– Do not hit the unit against objects.
• If the unit becomes dirty, wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Do
not use benzine, alcohol, thinner, detergent, etc., because they will damage the surface finish.

On organic glass
The unit uses organic glass.
Misusing the organic glass may cause the glass to break, cause injury, or sometimes lead to
blindness. It may also have adverse effects on the sound quality, illumination, etc. To avoid an
accident, be sure to adhere to the following.
• Do not grasp the organic glass directly with your hands or lift it.
Grasping the organic glass to lift the unit may damage the unit or cause injuries if the unit falls.
• Do not subject the unit to strong impacts, such as dropping it from a high place, hitting it against
something, or stepping on it. If you hit the unit against a hard object, even without strong force,
the organic glass may break, crack, chip, or warp, causing failure or low performance.
• Do not scratch the organic glass.
Small cracks and chips can cause the organic glass to break. If the glass cracks but does not
immediately break, it may break suddenly at an unexpected time. Small chips, small cracks and
large cracks can have a strong negative impact on sound quality, illumination, and other
functions.
• Do not subject the unit to extreme temperature changes.
The organic glass is not heat resistant. Do not place the unit near or on top of hot objects.
Extreme temperature changes may cause the glass to break or warp.
If you notice any cracks, chips, breaks, or other abnormalities in the organic glass cylinder, contact
your nearest Sony dealer.
On handling the organic glass cylinder
• Without using strong force, brush away dust with a soft brush or feather duster, and use the
supplied cleaning cloth to wipe the organic glass clean. (Do not use a scrubbing brush, sponge,
etc.)
• If the organic glass is oily or covered in fingerprints, breathe onto it and use the supplied
cleaning cloth to wipe it off.
• If the organic glass is exceptionally dirty, wipe it with the supplied cleaning cloth that has been
dampened with cold water.
• Do not use benzine, alcohol, thinner, detergent, etc., because they will damage the surface finish.
• Do not dismantle the unit, because it may cause performance and sound quality deterioration.
On the organic glass cylinder illumination
• Do not look directly into the illumination.
Notes on the USB AC adaptor
• When connecting or disconnecting the USB AC adaptor, turn off the unit beforehand. Otherwise,
it may cause malfunction.
• Use only the supplied USB AC adaptor and micro-USB cable. To avoid damaging the unit, do not
use any other USB AC adaptor.
Polarity of the plug
• Plug the USB AC adaptor into a nearby AC outlet. In the case of a problem, unplug it from the AC
outlet immediately.
• Do not install the USB AC adaptor in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
Others
• Do not use or leave the unit in an extremely cold or hot environment (temperature outside the
range of 5 °C – 35 °C (41 °F – 95 °F)). If the unit is used or left in outside the above range, the unit
may automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
• At high temperature, the charging may stop or the volume may reduce to protect the battery.
• Even if you do not intend to use the unit for a long time, charge the battery to its full capacity
once every 6 months to maintain its performance.

If you use this unit while connected to the Internet via a Wi-Fi network, the unit can update to
the latest software automatically.
By updating the software, new features will be added enabling you to experience more
convenient and stable use.
If you do not want to automatically update the software, you can disable this function by
using “Sony | Music Center” installed on your smartphone/iPhone.
However, the software may be updated automatically for stable use, etc., even if you disable
this function. Also, if you disable this function, you can still update the software manually.

Le présent appareil est conforme à la partie 15 des règles de la FCC et aux normes des CNR

exempts de licence. L’exploitation est autorisée aux deux conditions suivantes : (1) l’appareil ne
doit pas produire de brouillage, et (2) l’appareil doit accepter tout brouillage subi, même si le

La transmission de données est toujours démarrée par le logiciel, qui sont transmises par le MAC,
à travers la bande de base numérique et analogique, et enfin à la puce RF. Plusieurs paquets
spéciaux sont démarrés par le MAC. Ce sont les seules façons dont la partie de bande de base
numérique active l’émetteur RF qui se désactivera à la fin du paquet. Par conséquent, l’émetteur

Consignes de sécurité importantes

des branchements, des prises de courant et des sorties de l’appareil.

Sécurité
• Les plaquettes signalétiques sont apposées sur le dessous de l'appareil, à l'extérieur, et sur la
surface de l'adaptateur secteur.
• L'adresse MAC du réseau sans fil est apposée sur le dessous de l'appareil, à l'extérieur.
Activation/désactivation de la fonction sans fil
La fonction sans fil de cet appareil s'active lorsque vous mettez l'appareil sous tension en
appuyant sur la touche
(marche/veille).
Pour désactiver la fonction sans fil, mettez l'appareil hors tension en appuyant sur la touche
(marche/veille).
Si vous utilisez la fonction Veille réseau, désactivez le paramètre Veille réseau à l’aide de
« Sony | Music Center » avant de mettre cet appareil hors tension.
Augmentation de la température
• Si l'appareil est utilisé pendant une période prolongée, sa température et celle de l'adaptateur
secteur USB augmentent. Ce n'est pas un dysfonctionnement.
Rangement
• L’enceinte, l’ampli intégré et le boîtier ont été réglés très précisément. N’essayez, en aucun cas,
de les démonter ou de les modifier.
• N'introduisez pas d'objets étrangers dans l'ouverture de l'enceinte.
• Gardez ce produit et les accessoires fournis à l’abri des projections d’eau. Ils ne sont pas
étanches.
• Ne laissez pas l’appareil dans un endroit soumis à des températures élevées, notamment aux
rayons directs du soleil ou situé à proximité d’une source de chaleur ou sous un appareil
d’éclairage.
• N’utilisez pas ou ne laissez pas l’appareil dans une voiture.
• Ne placez pas l'appareil dans une position inclinée. Dans le cas contraire, les vibrations de
l’appareil pourraient provoquer sa chute, provoquer un dysfonctionnement, l'endommager ou
diminuer ses performances.
• Faites preuve de prudence lorsque vous placez l'appareil sur une surface spécialement traitée
(cirée, huilée, polie, etc.), car cela pourrait provoquer des taches ou une décoloration.
• En fonction de l'emplacement, l'appareil risque de tomber ou de chuter. Ne laissez aucun objet
de valeur à proximité de l'appareil.
• Lors du transport de l'appareil, observez les points suivants.
– Ne laissez aucun objet sensible au magnétisme (cartes de débit, etc.) à proximité de l'appareil.
– Ne saisissez pas l’enceinte par le cylindre en verre organique.
– Ne heurtez pas l'appareil contre des objets.
• Si l'appareil est sale, essuyez le boîtier avec un chiffon doux humecté de détergent doux.
N'utilisez pas d'essence, d'alcool, de diluant, de détergent, etc., car ces produits
endommageraient la finition de la surface. Pour plus d'informations sur le nettoyage du cylindre

Verre organique
L'appareil utilise du verre organique.
En cas de mauvais traitement, le verre organique peut se briser et entraîner des blessures pouvant
aller jusqu’à la cécité. Cela peut nuire, en outre, à la qualité sonore, à l’illumination, etc. Pour éviter
tout accident, veuillez respecter les consignes d’utilisation suivantes.
• Ne saisissez pas le verre organique directement avec les mains et ne le soulevez pas.
Si vous soulevez l'appareil par le verre organique, vous risquez de l'endommager ou de vous
blesser en cas de chute de l'appareil.
• Ne soumettez pas l'appareil à des chocs violents, par exemple, en le laissant tomber d'une
certaine hauteur, en le heurtant contre quelque chose ou en marchant dessus. Si vous heurtez
l'appareil contre un objet dur, même sans force, le verre organique risque de se briser, de se
fissurer, de s'ébrécher ou de se déformer, entraînant une défaillance ou une perte de
performance.
• Prenez garde de ne pas rayer le verre organique.
Le moindre éclat ou la moindre fissure peut faire éclater le verre organique. Si le verre se fendille,
mais ne casse pas immédiatement, il peut rompre soudainement et vous prendre au dépourvu.
La présence de petits éclats ainsi que de petites et de grandes craquelures peut nuire fortement
à la qualité du son, à l’illumination et à d’autres fonctions.
• Ne soumettez pas l'appareil à des variations de température extrêmes.
Le verre organique n'est pas résistant à la chaleur. Ne placez pas l'appareil près ou sur des objets
chauds.
Les variations de température extrêmes peuvent provoquer des bris ou une déformation du
verre.
Si vous constatez la présence d’une craquelure, d’une fissure ou de toute autre anomalie dans le
cylindre en verre organique, contactez votre revendeur Sony le plus proche.
Manipulation du cylindre en verre organique
• Enlevez délicatement les saletés et la poussière avec une brosse douce ou un plumeau et
servez-vous du chiffon de nettoyage fourni pour épousseter le verre organique. (N’utilisez ni
brosse à récurer, ni éponge, etc.)
• Si le verre organique présente des traces de gras ou de doigts, soufflez dessus et utilisez le
chiffon de nettoyage fourni pour les faire disparaître.
• Si le verre organique est exceptionnellement sale, nettoyez-le avec le chiffon de nettoyage
fourni, humecté d'eau froide.
• N’utilisez pas de benzène, d’alcool, de diluant, de détergent, etc., car vous risqueriez
d’endommager le traitement de surface.
• Ne démontez pas l'appareil car cela pourrait nuire à ses performances et à la qualité du son.
Illumination du cylindre en verre organique
• Ne regardez pas directement l’illumination.
Remarques concernant l'adaptateur secteur USB
• Lorsque vous branchez ou débranchez l'adaptateur secteur USB, prenez soin de mettre d'abord
l'appareil hors tension. Sinon, vous risquez de provoquer un dysfonctionnement.
• Utilisez uniquement l'adaptateur secteur USB et le câble micro-USB fournis. Pour éviter
d’endommager l’appareil, n’utilisez un adaptateur secteur USB d'un autre type.
Polarité de la prise
• Branchez l’adaptateur secteur USB sur une prise secteur à proximité. En cas d'anomalie,
débranchez-le immédiatement de la prise secteur.
• N'installez pas l'adaptateur secteur USB dans un espace confiné, tel que dans une bibliothèque
ou un meuble encastré.
Autres
• N’utilisez ou ne laissez pas l’appareil dans un environnement extrêmement froid ou chaud
(température à l’extérieur de la plage de 5 °C - 35 °C (41 °F - 95 °F)). Si l’appareil est utilisé ou
laissé à une température à l’extérieur de cette plage, il pourrait s’arrêter automatiquement pour
protéger le circuit interne.
• À haute température, il est possible que la charge s’arrête ou que le volume diminue pour
protéger la batterie.
• Même si vous envisagez de ne pas utiliser l’appareil pendant une période prolongée, chargez
entièrement la batterie tous les 6 mois pour maintenir son niveau de performance.
