Using the recording functions Using the camera's zoom feature With the camera's zoom feature, you can increase the magnification to a scale greater than that of the optical zoom scale of the lens. 1 Slide the W/T (zoom) lever. • If you use a lens with power zoom, the camera shifts automatically to the zoom feature of the camera when the magnification scale is greater than that of the optical zoom. • If you use a lens with manual zoom, it is recommended that you use the zoom feature of the camera after zooming up to the maximum magnification scale of the optical zoom by rotating the zoom ring. z The zoom features available with this camera The zoom feature of the camera provides higher magnification by combining various zoom features. The icon displayed on the LCD screen changes as follows, according to the selected zoom feature. Using the recording functions Zoom scale (low) Zoom scale (high) 1 Smart Zoom: You can magnify images by trimming them partially. (Available only when [Image Size] is set to [M] or [S].) 2 Clear Image Zoom: You can magnify images using high-resolution image processing. 3 Digital Zoom: You can magnify images using image processing. With the camera’s zoom feature, you can increase the magnification to a scale

The zoom speed differs depending on which lens with power zoom you use.
Confirm the operation of the lens before shooting.
