Shooting a clear image without camera shake "Camera shake" refers to unwanted movement of the camera that occurs after the shutter button has been pressed, resulting in a blurred image. To reduce camera shake follow the instructions below. Camera shake warning indicator Due to potential camera shake, the (Camera shake warning) indicator flashes. In this case, use a tripod or the flash. (Camera shake warning) indicator Note • The (Camera shake warning) indicator is displayed only in the modes that automatically set the shutter speed. This indicator is not displayed in M/S modes or when you record movies. Using the SteadyShot function The SteadyShot function is available with this camera to reduce camera shake. The SteadyShot function can be set separately for still image shooting and for movie recording. The SteadyShot function is set to [On] in the default settings. MENU button t 3 or 1 t [SteadyShot] t Select the desired setting Note • The SteadyShot function may not work optimally when the power has just been turned on, right after you point the camera towards a subject, or when the shutter button has been pressed all the way down without stopping halfway. 86
