Tethering with Xperia Link™ If you have an Xperia™ device, you can share your internet connection with another Xperia™ device. This way, your device can connect to the internet without having to use its own connection. This feature is useful when you are out and about and your device doesn't have or support a cellular or Wi-Fi connection on your tablet. Before you use tethering with Xperia Link™, make sure the Xperia Link™ application is installed and set up on both devices. Also, your Xperia™ device must have a camera with auto focus. The Xperia Link™ application is only supported by Xperia™ devices running the Android™ 4.0 software version or higher. If the Xperia Link™ application is not pre-installed on your Xperia™ device, you can download it from Google Play™. To Connect Your Xperia™ Devices Using a QR Code™ 1 Make sure the Bluetooth function is activated on both Xperia™ devices and that the devices have an active internet connection. 2 Tablet: From your Homescreen, tap > Xperia Link > Add device, then follow the instructions to complete the setup. A QR Code™ appears on the screen. 3 The other device: From your Homescreen, tap > Xperia Link > Add device > Scan. 4 Hold your device over the QR Code™ on the screen until the complete QR Code™ is visible in the viewfinder of the device. 5 Your device automatically scans the QR Code™ and connects to your tablet once the QR Code™ is recognized. 6 To confirm the connection, tap OK. Virtual private networks (VPNs) Use your device to connect to virtual private networks (VPNs), which allow you to access resources inside a secured local network from a public network. For example, VPN connections are commonly used by corporations and educational institutions for users who need to access intranets and other internal services when they are outside of the internal network, for example, when they are traveling. VPN connections can be set up in many ways, depending on the network. Some networks may require you to transfer and install a security certificate on your device. For detailed information on how to set up a connection to your virtual private network, please contact the network administrator of your company or organization. To add a virtual private network 1 From your Homescreen, tap . 2 Find and tap Settings > More > VPN. 3 Tap . 4 Select the type of VPN to add. 5 Enter your VPN settings. 6 Tap Save. To connect to a virtual private network 1 From your Homescreen, tap . 2 Find and tap Settings > More > VPN. 3 In the list of available networks, tap the VPN you want to connect to. 4 Enter the required information. 5 Tap Connect. Tethering with Xperia Link™
If you have an Xperia™ device, you can share your internet connection with another
Xperia™ device. This way, your device can connect to the internet without having to use
its own connection. This feature is useful when you are out and about and your device
doesn’t have or support a cellular or Wi-Fi connection on your tablet. Before you use
tethering with Xperia Link™, make sure the Xperia Link™ application is installed and set
up on both devices. Also, your Xperia™ device must have a camera with auto focus.
The Xperia Link™ application is only supported by Xperia™ devices running the Android™ 4.0
software version or higher. If the Xperia Link™ application is not pre-installed on your Xperia™
device, you can download it from Google Play™.
