48 Getting Started Using the computer for the first time is on. If the computer is not consuming full power, the time required to charge the battery is reduced. For more information on battery use, see "Running the computer on battery power" on page 85. CAUTION: Once the battery is charged for the first time, avoid leaving the computer plugged in and turned off for more than a few hours at a time. Continuing to charge a fully charged battery can damage the battery. NOTE: Battery life and charge time may vary depending on the applications, power management settings, and features used. Using the computer for the first time Opening the display panel Press the display latch and lift the display panel. Lift Push Opening the display panel CAUTION: To avoid damaging the display panel, don't force it beyond the point where it moves easily. Never lift or move the computer using the display panel.
