Finding Your Way Around Underside 29 The numeric mode light glows when the numeric overlay is on. When this light is on, pressing an overlay key types the white number printed on the key instead of typing the letter printed on the top of the key. For more information, see "Using the numeric keypad overlay" on page 63. CAUTION: Never turn off the computer while any drive is in use. Doing so may damage the media and result in loss of data. Underside Memory slot cover Battery pack Battery release latch Battery latch lock The expansion memory slot cover protects the two expansion memory slots where you insert additional memory. See "Installing additional memory (optional)" on page 45 for detailed information. The hard disk drive is the computer's permanent data storage device.
