Step 1 Check the Package Contents Make sure you have received the following items in the package. If any of these items are missing or damaged, contact the Uniden Customer Hotline. • Base unit Uniden Customer • Handset Hotline at 1-800-297- • AC adapter 1023. (Mon - Fri 7 am • Rechargeable battery to 7 pm, Sat/Sun 9 am • Telephone cord to 5 pm, CST. Phone • Beltclip • This owner's manual • Other printed material support is closed on holidays.) We can also be reached on the web at www.uniden.com Step 2 Install and Charge the Handset Battery TO INSTALL THE HANDSET BATTERY A Remove the cover. Connect the battery pack B connector with the correct polarity. C Replace the cover. www.uniden.com D Plug the AC adapter cord into the base unit and then into a 120V AC outlet. Step 4 Set Menu Options Place the handset in the base and charge E continuously for 15 - 20 hours before using the phone. Step 3 Connect to Phone Line When the handset battery pack is fully charged, after 15-20 hours of charging, plug the telephone cord into the base unit and then into a telephone wall jack. Your phone is set for tone dialing. If your local network requires pulse dialing, please see "Choosing the dialing mode" on page 16. Note: There are five setup options available. They are Caller ID options [AutoTalk, CIDCW (Caller ID on Call Waiting), Area Code], Dial Mode and Language. TO SET CALLER ID, LANGUAGE AND DIALING OPTIONS A Press and hold call id/menu. B Press L or M to move the pointer to an option. C Press select to change the option setting. D Press end to exit, and return the handset to the base.
