DIAGRAM OF THE CONSOLE Displays Speed Control Note: If there is a thin sheet of clear plastic on the face of the console, remove it before operating the console. CAUTION: Before operating the console, read the following precautions. • Do not stand on the walking belt when turning on the power. • Always wear the clip (see the drawing below) while using the treadmill. When the key is removed from the console, the walking belt will stop. • Adjust the speed in small increments. • To reduce the possibility of electric shock, keep the console dry. Avoid spilling liquids on the console. Put only sealable water bottles in the water bottle holders. BATTERY INSTALLATION The console requires two 12 "AA" batteries (not included). Alkaline batter- ies are recom- Batteries mended. To install bat- 12 teries, open the battery cover (12) beneath the Tab console as shown. Press two batteries into the console. Make sure that the negative (-) ends of the batteries are touching the springs. Close the battery cover, push up on the tab, and then push the tab forward as shown in the inset drawing. Make sure that the tab locks into place. STEP-BY-STEP CONSOLE OPERATION Before operating the console, make sure that the power cord is properly plugged in (see page 8). Step onto the foot rails of the treadmill. Find Key the clip attached to the key, and slide the clip onto the waist- band of your clothes. Next, Clip insert the key fully into the con- sole. Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward until the key is pulled from the console. If the key is not pulled from the console, adjust the position of the clip as needed. 9
