Data Backup and Initializing Connecting to a computer By connecting a computer to the [USB TO HOST] terminal, you can transfer data between the instrument and the computer via MIDI. For details on using a computer with this instrument, refer to page 8 of the "Computer-related Operations" on the website. [USB TO HOST] terminal Instrument USB cable Computer NOTE • Use an AB type USB cable. When connecting a USB cable, make sure that the length is less than 3 meters. Types of file that can be exchanged with a computer Songs: • User Song (UserSong1.mid) • Files with a .mid extension (SMF format 0 or 1) NOTICE • Before you transfer an SMF file from a computer, make sure to transfer the User Song to a computer for safe keeping, since already-recorded data will be replaced with the new transfer. NOTE • Certain MIDI files in SMF format 0 or 1 may contain data that is not sup- ported by your digital piano. In such a case, the files may not play as originally intended. Data Backup and Initializing The following data will automatically be maintained as backup data even if you turn off the power. Backup data Metronome/Rhythm Volume, Metronome/Rhythm selection (Beat or Rhythm number), Touch Sensitivity, Tuning, Split Point, Pianist Style Volume, Auto Power OFF, Damper Resonance on/off, IAC on/off, IAC Depth, User Song, Intro/Ending on/ off, Operation Confirmation Sounds on/off, AUX OUT volume settings To save the User Song data to a computer: Among the backup data listed above, only the User Song (UserSong1.mid) can be transferred to a computer and saved as a SMF file. For details, refer to page 8 of the "Computer-related Operations" on the website. To initialize the backup data: While holding down the C7 key (right-most key), turn the power on to initialize the backup data to the factory initial settings. C7 Both the [REC] and [PLAY] lamps flash, indicating that the initialization is being executed. After the operation is completed, both lamps turn off. NOTICE • Never turn off the power while the initialization is being executed. Data Backup and Initializing
The following data will automatically be maintained
as backup data even if you turn off the power.
Backup data
Metronome/Rhythm Volume, Metronome/Rhythm
selection (Beat or Rhythm number), Touch Sensi-
tivity, Tuning, Split Point, Pianist Style Volume,
Auto Power OFF, Damper Resonance on/off, IAC
on/off, IAC Depth, User Song, Intro/Ending on/
off, Operation Confirmation Sounds on/off, AUX
OUT volume settings
To save the User Song data to a computer:
Among the backup data listed above, only the User
Song (UserSong1.mid) can be transferred to a com-
puter and saved as a SMF file. For details, refer to
page 8 of the “Computer-related Operations” on the
website.
To initialize the backup data:
While holding down the C7 key (right-most key), turn
the power on to initialize the backup data to the fac-
tory initial settings.
Both the [REC] and [PLAY] lamps flash, indicating
that the initialization is being executed. After the
operation is completed, both lamps turn off.
