Automatic-Transaxle A CAU ION: There are SL dral different positionsfor your shift lever. 0 . L It is dangerous to get out of your vehicle if the shift lever is not fullyin "P" (Park) with the parking brake firmly set. Your vehicle can roll. Don't leaveyour vehicle when the engine is running unless you have to. If you have left the engine running, the vehicle can move suddenly. You or others could beinjured. To be sure your vehicle won't move, whenyou're on fairlylevel ground, always set your parking brake and move the shift lever to "P" (Park). See "Shifting Into "P" (Park)" in the Index. If you are parking on a hill, also see "Parking on Hills" in the Index. P (Park) This locks your front wheels. It's the best position to use when you start your engine because your vehicle can't move easily. Ensure the shift lever is fully "P' in (Park) range before starting the engine.
