Weight of the Trailer How heavy can a trailer safely be? It should never weigh more than 2,000 lbs. (900 kg), unless you have the optional 5,000 lbs. ( 2 250 kg) trailer towing package.But even that can be too heavy. It also dependson how you plan to use your rig. For example, speed, altitude, road grades, outside temperature and how much your vehicleused to pull a is trailer are all important; And, can also depend on any it special equipment that you have on your vehicle. Weight of the 'Railer Tongue The tongue load (A) any trailer is an important of weight to measure because affects the total capacity it weight of your vehicle. The capacity weight includes the curb weight of the vehicle, any cargo you may carry in it, and the people who will be ridingthe vehicle.
