Engine Speed Limiter (Northstar) If you have the 4.6 L Northstar engine, you have an Engine Speed Limiter. This feature prevents the engine from operating at toomany revolutions per minute (RPM). When your engine RPM's are critically high the fuel supply to theengine is shut off. When the engine speed slows, the furl supply will come on again. This helps prevent damage to the engine. 133
