Tire Sealant and Compressor Kit If the vehicle has a Tire Sealant and Compressor Kit, check the sealant expiration date printed on the instruction label of the kit at least once a year. See your dealer/retailer for a replacement canister. Recommended Fluids and Lubricants Fluids and lubricants identified below by name, part number, or specification can be obtained from your dealer/retailer. Usage Fluid/Lubricant The engine requires a special engine oil meeting GM Standard GM4718M. Oils meeting this standard can be identified as synthetic, and should also be identified with the American Petroleum Institute (API) Certified for Gasoline Engines starburst symbol. However, not all synthetic API oils with the starburst symbol will meet this GM standard. Look for and use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM4718M. For the proper viscosity, see Engine Oil on page 5-18. Fluid/Lubricant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL® Engine Coolant Coolant. See Engine Coolant on page 5-31. Intercooler System 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable (6.2L V8 water and use only DEX-COOL® Supercharged Coolant. Engine) 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid Hydraulic Brake DOT (GM Part No. U.S. 12377967, System in Canada 89021320). Windshield Washer Hydraulic Clutch System Optikleen® Washer Solvent. Usage Engine Oil Hydraulic Clutch Fluid. Use only GM Part No. U.S. 88958860, in Canada 88901244, Super DOT-4 brake fluid. Chassis Lubricant Part No. U.S. 12377985, in Parking Brake (GM 88901242) or lubricant Cable Guides Canada meeting requirements of NLGI #2, Category LB or GC-LB. Power Steering GM Power Steering Fluid (GM Part No. U.S. 89021184, System in Canada 89021186). 6-14
