3-10 Seats and Restraints Folding the Seatback To fold the seatback: Rear Seats { Caution Folding a rear seat with the safety belts still fastened may cause damage to the seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts and return them to their normal stowed position before folding a rear seat. If equipped, either side of the seatback can be folded for more cargo space. Fold a seatback only when the vehicle is not moving. Split fold seats are equipped with a locking latch. Lock and unlock the seatback using the vehicle key in the cylinder. The latch will not open when the seatback is locked. 1. Disconnect the rear safety belt mini-latch using a key in the slot on the mini-buckle, and let the belt retract.
