102 UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE Partial ESP This mode is entered by momentarily pressing the ЉESP OFFЉ button. When in ЉPartial ESPЉ mode, the TCS portion of ESP has been disabled, and the ЉESP/ TCS Indicator LightЉ will be illuminated. This mode is intended to be used to for a more spirited driving experience, or if the vehicle is in deep snow, sand or gravel conditions and more wheel spin than ESP would normally allow is required. To turn ESP on again, momentarily press the ЉESP OFFЉ button. ESP Off This mode is intended for off-highway or off-road use only and should not be used on any public roadways. In this mode, all TCS and ESP stability features are turned off. To enter the ЉESP OffЉ mode, press and hold the ЉESP OFFЉ button for 5 seconds when the vehicle is stopped with the engine running. After 5 seconds, a chime will sound, the ЉESP/TCS Indicator LightЉ will illuminate, and the ЉESPOFFЉ message will be displayed in the vehicle odometer. Press and release the trip odometer button located on the instrument cluster to clear this message. The ЉESP System DeactivatedЉ message may appear in the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) if the vehicle is so equipped. To turn ESP on again, momentarily press the ЉESP OFFЉ button. NOTE: • When the ESP system has been switched off, a feature of the system remains active. This feature functions similar to a limited slip differential and controls the wheel spin across an axle. If one wheel on an axle is spinning faster than the other, the system will apply the brake of the spinning wheel and allow more ESP OFF Button
