M A I N T E N A N C E 434 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE The Scheduled Maintenance services, listed in bold type , must be done at the times or mileages specified to ensure the continued proper functioning of the emission control system. These, and all other maintenance services included in this manual, should be done to provide best vehicle performance and reliability. More frequent mainS tenance may be needed for vehicles in severe operating C conditions, such as dusty areas and very short trip H driving. E D U L E S MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE To help you have the best driving experience possible, the manufacturer has identified the specific vehicle maintenance service intervals that are required to keep your vehicle operating properly and safely. Chrysler recommends that these maintenance intervals be performed at your selling dealer. The technicians at your dealership know your vehicle best, and have access to factory-trained information, genuine Mopar parts, and specially designed electronic and mechanical tools that can help prevent future costly repairs. The maintenance intervals shown should be performed as indicated in this section. NOTE: Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 6,000 mi (10,000 km) or six months, whichever comes first. Inspection and service should also be done any time a malfunction is suspected. NOTE: Maintenance, replacement, or repair of the emission control devices and systems on your vehicle may be performed by any automotive repair establishment or individual using any automotive part that has been certified pursuant to U.S. EPA or, in the State of California, California Air Resources Board regulations. 8
