CLIMATE This Quick Reference Guide is not intended to replace your vehicle Owner's Guide which contains more detailed information concerning the features of your vehicle, as well as important safety warnings designed to help reduce the risk of injury to you and your passengers. Please read your entire Owner's Guide carefully as you begin learning about your new vehicle and refer to the appropriate sections when questions arise. All information contained in this Quick Reference Guide was accurate at the time of duplication. We reserve the right to change features, operation and/or functionality of any vehicle specification at any time. Your Ford dealer is the best source for the most current information. For detailed operating and safety information, please consult your Owner's Guide. Rearview camera SYSTEM (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with a rearview camera, located under the Ford oval badge on the tailgate. The camera provides a visual display of the area behind the vehicle. The display will automatically appear in the navigation system screen (if equipped) or in the auto dimming rearview mirror whenever the vehicle is in Reverse (R) and uses colors (green, yellow and red) to alert you of your proximity to objects. Note: Visibility aids do not replace the need to watch where the vehicle is moving. Refer to your Owner's Guide for safety information, more detail and limitations. Reverse sensing SYSTEM (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with a reverse sensing system which can warn you if there is an object behind the vehicle. The system will sound a warning tone that increases in frequency as the object gets closer and will sound continuously when the object is less than 10 inches away. The system is not effective when the vehicle is traveling above 3 mph (5 km/h) and may not detect angular or moving objects. Note: Visibility aids do not replace the need to watch where the vehicle is moving. Refer to your Owner's Guide for safety information, more detail and limitations. Moon roof (if equipped) The moon roof is equipped with a one-touch, express opening and closing feature. To open the moon roof, press the SLIDE control. To close the moon roof, pull the SLIDE control. To vent the moon roof, press the TILT control. To close, pull and hold the TILT control. To stop motion at any time during the one-touch operation, press the control a second time. SYNC® (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with SYNC® - a hands-free communications and entertainment system with special phone and media features. For more information, please refer to the SYNC® Supplement or to the SYNC® section in the Navigation Supplement. Please also feel free to visit www.SyncMyRide.com. Remote Entry System Features (if equipped) Press once to unlock the driver's door. twice to unlock the passenger and Press rear doors. twice to confirm all the doors are closed Press and locked. Press to activate the panic alarm. Press again or turn the ignition on to deactivate the panic alarm. twice within three seconds. Car finder: Press The horn will chirp and the turn lamps will flash. It is recommended to use this method to locate your vehicle, rather than using the panic alarm. Trailer Tow Your F-150 is equipped with a comprehensive trailer towing package. Please refer to your Owner's Guide for complete information on weights as well as the proper equipment to use while towing. Power deployable running boards (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with power deployable running boards which will automatically extend down and out when the vehicle doors are opened. The running boards will return to the stowed position when the doors are closed. For more information on the power deployable running boards, or to manually operate them, please refer to your Owner's Guide. MyKey™ Allows you to program certain driving restrictions on any standard key in order to promote good driving habits. When MyKey™ is programmed: •  Belt-Minder® cannot be disabled and the audio system will be muted until the safety belt is buckled. •  Early low fuel warnings are provided. •  Audio volume can be limited. •  Vehicle speed can be limited. •  Audible and visual speed warnings can be configured at preselected speeds. •  AdvanceTrac® cannot be programmed off. Easy Fuel™ 'no cap' fuel system Your vehicle has a 'no cap' fuel system which allows you to simply open the fuel filler door, insert the nozzle and start fueling. Wait five seconds from the time the refueling nozzle is shut-off until the nozzle is pulled back out of the fill pipe to allow residual fuel in the nozzle to drain into the tank. The Easy Fuel™ system is self-sealing and therefore protected against dust, dirt, water, snow and ice. If you need to fill your fuel tank with a portable fuel container, use the fuel funnel which is located under the second row driver side seat, near the spare tire tool box. Slowly insert the funnel into the Easy Fuel™ system and fill the tank with fuel from the container. When done, clean the funnel or properly dispose of it. Extra funnels can be purchased from your authorized dealer. Do not use aftermarket funnels as they will not work with the Easy Fuel™ system and may cause damage. Fuel Type/Tank Capacity/Flex Fuel Your vehicle is equipped with either a 26 gallon (98.4L) or a 36 gallon (136.2L) fuel tank. You may have a Flex Fuel Vehicle. Flex fuel vehicles have a yellow ring around the top of the fuel filler inlet (tube) and can use either regular unleaded fuel, E85 ethanol fuel or any mixture of the two. If you do not have a flex fuel vehicle, then only use "Regular" unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87. Do not use E85 fuels, because your vehicle was not designed to run on fuels with more than 10% ethanol. Tire Pressure Your tire pressure is properly set at the dealership according to the recommended specifications found on the Safety Compliance Certification Label or Tire Label located on the B-Pillar or the edge of the driver's door. Check your tire pressure at least once a month and before long trips (including the spare). As an added safety feature, your vehicle has been equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that when illuminates a low tire pressure warning light one or more of your tires is significantly under-inflated. Refer to the Tires, Wheels and Loading chapter in your Owner's Guide for more information. Roadside Assistance Your new Ford F-150 comes with the assurance and support of 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. Roadside assistance includes such services as: lockout assistance, limited fuel delivery, battery jump starts, changing a flat tire, towing, and winch out. To receive roadside assistance in the United States, call 1 (800) 241-3673. In Canada, call 1 (800) 665-2006. Location of spare tire A temporary spare tire is located under the vehicle, just forward of the rear bumper. The temporary spare is designed for emergency use only and should be replaced as soon as possible. The jack and tools are either attached to a floor bracket behind the driver's seat, attached to a floor bracket under the rear seat on the driver's side or in a plastic box in the floor under the rear seat. SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ Your vehicle is equipped with the SOS Post-Crash Alert™ system. This system provides audible and visual alarms in the event of a crash which causes the deployment of airbags or the activation of the safety belt pretensioners. The turn signals will flash and the horn will sound. To deactivate the system, press the button on your hazard flasher control, or the remote transmitter. Improved fuel economy while coasting or decelerating Your vehicle has been designed to improve fuel economy by reducing fuel usage during coasting or while decelerating. Recirculated air may reduce the amount of time needed to cool down the vehicle and may also help reduce undesirable odors from entering the vehicle. Recirculated air engages automatically when MAX A/C is selected. Press to activate passenger side temperature control. Turn the control to decrease/increase the temperature setting for the passenger side of the vehicle. Press again to deactivate (the driver side settings will then determine the temperature for the entire vehicle cabin). SINGLE POWER Press to turn the system on/off. (if equipped) Distributes air through the floor vents and rear seat floor vent. Note: The indicator lights on the left hand side of the icon will indicate which mode is active. Press to activate air conditioning. Use with recirculating air to help improve cooling performance and efficiency. 1 FAN Press to increase (+) or decrease (-) the fan speed. Press to turn the system on. Turn the control to increase/decrease the temperature on the driver side of the vehicle. Note: This control will also determine the temperature for the entire vehicle cabin when the passenger temperature control (PASS TEMP) is not engaged. 2 DRIVER TEMPERATURE ON/OFF 1 DEFROST Press to distribute air through the windshield defroster vents and de-mister vents and to clear the windshield of fog and thin ice. 2 6 A/C 8 PASS TEMP 3 REAR DEFROSTER (if equipped) Press to activate the rear window defroster and clear the rear window of thin ice and fog. Press again to deactivate. If your vehicle is equipped with both a rear defrost and heated mirrors, pressing the rear defrost button will activate both. REAR DEFROSTER (if equipped) Press to activate the rear window defroster and clear the rear window of thin ice and fog. Press again to deactivate. If your vehicle is equipped with both a rear defrost and heated mirrors, pressing the rear defrost button will activate both. 4 7 TEMPERATURE CONTROL Controls the temperature of airflow in the vehicle. 8 RECIRCULATING AIR Press to activate/deactivate air circulation inside the vehicle cabin. Recirculated air may reduce the amount of time needed to cool down the vehicle and may also reduce undesirable odors from entering the vehicle. Recirculating air engages automatically when MAX A/C is selected. 9 MAX A/C Press to distribute recirculating air through the instrument panel vents to cool the vehicle. This mode is more economic and efficient. Press again to return to normal A/C operation. Note: When MAX A/C is activated, the indicator lights and the multifunction control (5) will turn off. 4 DEFROST Distributes outside air through the windshield defroster vents and demister vents. Can be used to clear the windshield of fog and thin ice. 5 DRIVER/PASSENGER COOLED SEATS Press once for the high cool setting (three indicator lights), twice for medium cool (two indicator lights) or three times for low cool (one indicator light). Press again to turn off. 9 AUTO Press the control to engage full automatic operation. The system will automatically determine fan speed, airflow distribution, A/C on or off and either outside or recirculated air to heat or cool the vehicle to reach the desired temperature. Press to distribute recirculated air through the instrument panel vents to cool the vehicle. This mode is more economical and efficient. Press again to return to normal A/C operation. Rear heated seats (if equipped): The controls for the rear heated seats are located on for maximum heat. the rear door armrest. Press for minimum heat. Press again to deactivate. Press Press again to deactivate. 10 MAX A/C 5 MULTIFUNCTION CONTROL Press repeatedly to cycle through the following settings: Distributes air through the windshield defroster vents, de-mister vents, floor vents and rear seat floor vents. The system will automatically provide outside air to reduce window fogging. Distributes air through the instrument panel vents.
