Changing a Flat Tire If a tire goes flat, avoid further tire wheel damage and by driving slowly to level place.Turn on your hazard a warning flashers. Changing a tire can cause an injury. The vehicle roll can slipoff the jack and over you or other people. You and they could bebadly injured. Find a level place to change your tire. To help prevent thevehicle from moving: 1. Set the parking brake firmly. 2. Put the shiftlever in PARK (P). 3. Thrn off the engine. 4. Put the wheel blocks at the front and rear of the tire farthest away from the one beingchanged. That would be the tire on the otherside of the vehicle, at the opposite end. L 1 W The followingsteps will tell you how to usethe jack and change a tire. 5-23
