Lap Belt If your vehicle has rear bench seats, someone can sit in the center positions. To make thebelt shorter, pull its free end as shown until the belt is snug. When you sit in a center seating position, you have a lap safety belt, which has retractor. To make the belt no longer, tilt the latch plate pull it along the belt. and Buckle, position and release the same wayas the lap it part of a lap-shoulderbelt. If the belt isn't long enough, see "Safety Belt Extender" at the of this section. end Make sure the release buttonon the buckleis positioned so you would be able unbuckle the safety belt quickly to if you ever had to. 1-36
