Outside Convex Mirror Object Detection Systems Rear Vision Camera Your vehicle may be equipped with a rear vision camera system. Read this entire section before using the camera system. The rear vision camera system is designed to help the driver when backing up by displaying a view of the area behind the vehicle. When the driver shifts the vehicle into REVERSE (R), the video screen will automatically slide out from the rear view mirror. Once the driver shifts out of REVERSE (R), the video screen will slide back into the rear view mirror after a delay. The display has a guideline overlay that can help the driver align the vehicle when backing into a parking spot. To turn off the rear vision camera system, do the following: 1. Place the vehicle shift lever in PARK (P). 2. Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY position. 3. Press the right mirror button briefly; the right green light indicator will turn off. The rear camera vision display is now disabled. {CAUTION: A convex mirror can make things (like other vehicles) look farther away than they really are. If you cut too sharply into the right lane, you could hit a vehicle on your right. Check your inside mirror or glance over your shoulder before changing lanes. The passenger side mirror is convex. A convex mirror's surface is curved so more can be seen from the driver seat. It also makes things, like other vehicles, look farther away than they really are. 2-44
