166 UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL Mode Selection The mode selector (the right rotary knob) can be set in any of the following positions: distribution outlets. Air flows through the outlets located in the instrument panel. Use this mode to rapidly cool the inside of the vehicle. The Recirculation mode can also be used to temporarily block out outside odors, smoke, and dust. Panel Air flows through the outlets located in the instrument panel. Bi-Level Air flows both through the outlets located in the instrument panel and those located on the floor. Floor Air flows through the floor outlets located under the instrument panel and into the rear seating area through vents under the front seats. OFF This position turns off the blower motor and outside air will not pass through any outlets. Recirculation The recirculation feature can be selected with the mode control knob. Outside air is normally drawn into the vehicle in all of the other modes, such as panel air, bi-level, floor, floor/defrost, and the defrost air
