98 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT High Altitude Use The original carburetor settings for this vehicle are best for sea level use. When the vehicle is used at high altitude, the thinner atmosphere makes the air/fuel mixture richer reducing performance and increasing fuel usage. Have the carburetor adjusted by your authorized Kawasaki dealer if you intend to use this vehicle above 500 m (1 640 feet). Fuel System Accumulation of moisture or sediment in the fuel system can restrict the flow of fuel and cause carburetor malfunction. The system should be checked in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart. j WARNING Gasoline is extremely flammable and can be explosive under certain conditions and cause severe burns. Before performing any service, turn the ignition switch "OFF". Do not smoke. Make sure the area is well-ventilated and free from any source of flame or sparks, including any appliance with a pilot light. Make sure the engine is cold before servicing. Wipe any fuel off the engine before starting it. Dust and/or Water Inspection the cargo bed to support it with the hook. • Lift the seat. • Raise Remove the guard plate by releasing the two air • intake ducts and the 6 quick rivets.

High Altitude Use
The original carburetor settings for this vehicle are

When the vehicle is used
at high altitude, the thinner atmosphere makes the
air/fuel mixture richer reducing performance and in-
creasing fuel usage. Have the carburetor adjusted
by your authorized Kawasaki dealer if you intend to
use this vehicle above 500 m (1 640 feet).
Fuel System
Accumulation of moisture or sediment in the fuel
system can restrict the flow of fuel and cause carbu-
retor malfunction. The system should be checked in
accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart.
WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and can
be explosive under certain conditions and
cause severe burns. Before performing any
service,
turn
the
ignition
switch
“OFF”.
Do not smoke.
Make sure the area is
well-ventilated and free from any source

Make sure the engine is

Lift the cargo bed to support it with the hook.
Raise the seat.
