MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 119 Engine Vacuum Synchronization Engine vacuum synchronization must be checked and adjusted periodically in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart by a competent mechanic following the procedures in the Service Manual. Idle Speed The idle speed check should be performed in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart or whenever the idle speed is disturbed. Adjustment Start the engine, and warm it up thoroughly. Adjust the idle speed by turning the idle adjusting screw. NOTE żPoor engine vacuum synchronization will cause unstable idling, sluggish throttle response, and reduce engine power and performance. • • Idle Speed 1 250 a 1 350 r/min (rpm)

Adjustment

Start the engine, and warm it up thor-
