Topic 3 When Driving "ECT" Switch Use the "ECT" switch to select the driving mode that best suits the driving and road conditions. 1 Power mode For more powerful acceleration and uphill driving. 2 Normal mode 3 Snow mode For starting or accelerating on snow-covered roads or other slippery surfaces. An indicator comes on when in power or snow mode. Parking Brake For the parking brake, an electrical parking brake system is adopted. n Manual mode 1 To set the parking brake: push the parking brake switch. U.S.A. CANADA 2 To release the parking brake: pull the parking brake switch. Operate the parking brake switch while depressing the brake pedal. Make sure that the parking brake indicator light goes off. n Automatic mode In automatic mode, the parking brake automatically sets according to shift lever operation. To use the automatic mode, press the "AUTO" button. When the shift lever is moved out of "P": The parking brake will be released. When the shift lever is moved into "P": The parking brake will be set. 25
