1. H  eadlamps, Fog Lamps, Panel Dimmer Control  Turn the control one position to the right to turn on the parking lamps, instrument panel lamps, license plate lamps and tail lamps. Turn the control to the second position on the to turn on the right headlamps. Turn the control one position to to activate the left the autolamp feature, which automatically turns the exterior lamps on and off, based on available daylight.  Pull the control towards you to activate the fog lamps. Use the panel dimmer control to adjust the level of brightness on the instrument panel during parking lamp and headlamp operation. Move the control to the full upright position, past the detent, to turn on the interior lamps.  daptive Headlamps A (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with adaptive headlamps which move in the same direction as your steering wheel to provide added visibility around curves. Note: The system is inactive below 3 mph (5 km/h). vehicle serviced immediately by an authorized dealer. 3. A  nti-lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light  The ABS light illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on. If the ABS light remains on or continues to flash, a malfunction has been detected. Have the system serviced immediately by your authorized dealer. Normal braking (less ABS) is still functional unless the brake is warning light also illuminated. 4. A  irbag Readiness Light  The airbag readiness illuminates light briefly when the ignition is turned on. If this light fails to illuminate, remains on or continues to flash after the engine is started, have the system serviced immediately by your authorized dealer. 5.  Message Center  he message center disT plays important vehicle information through a constant monitoring of vehicle systems. The system will also notify you of potential vehicle problems with a display of system warnings followed by a long indicator chime. Refer to your Owner Guide for more information. the end of the stalk for a single swipe of the wipers without washer fluid. A quick push and hold results in three swipes with washer fluid while a longer push and hold activates the wash pattern for up to five seconds.   Rain Sensing Wipers (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with rain sensing wipers which will turn on automatically when the vehicle senses moisture on the windshield (provided the wiper interval is set to any position other than off).  Auto High Beam (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with an automatic high beam system which will automatically turn on your high beams during nighttime driving (if it is dark enough) and if no other traffic is present. The system uses a windshield mounted camera located behind the passenger side of the rear view mirror to monitor traffic conditions and high beam usage. If it appears that the automatic control of the high beams is not functioning, check the windshield in front of the camera for any blockages. Refer to your Owner's Guide for complete information. 7.  Steering Wheel Controls  To set the speed control, press and release ON. Accelerate to the desired speed. Press and release the SET + or SET - control. Take your foot off the accelerator 02 04 03 05 06 pedal. The speed control will indicator light illuminate in the cluster. To set a higher speed: press and hold SET+ until the desired speed is reached, or briefly press SET+ to increase the speed by small amounts. To set a lower speed: press and hold SET- until the desired speed is reached, or briefly press SET- to decrease the speed by small amounts. Press RESUME to return to the previously set speed. To turn speed control off, depress the brake pedal or press OFF.  Press - VOL + to decrease/increase the volume. to access  Press the previous/next preset radio station, CD track or preset satellite radio channel. to activate the  Press Voice recognition system. Refer to your SYNC or Navigation supplement (if equipped) for more information.  Press MEDIA repeatedly to scroll through all possible media sources (AM, FM1, FM2, CD...etc).  Adaptive Cruise Control (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with adaptive cruise control which allows you to set a 'GAP' distance between yourself and the vehicle ahead of you (in the same lane) when your cruise control is active. Once the desired GAP distance is selected, your vehicle will automatically adjust your speed to maintain the chosen distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Warning: This system cannot respond to rapid changes in traffic and does not replace the need to pay attention to the driving task and brake where necessary. For complete information on setting and using the Adaptive Cruise Control as well as detection issues, please refer to your Owner's Guide. 8.  Intelligent Access with Push Button Start (if equipped)  Your vehicle may be equipped with a push button start which allows you to start your vehicle by simply pressing the button while depressing the brake pedal, provided your Intelligent Access Key (if equipped) is present inside the vehicle or in the trunk. Warning: If you have a pacemaker or implanted medical device, discuss with your physician to avoid potential interaction and refer to your Owner's Guide for more information. 9. AdvanceTrac®  Your AdvanceTrac® system helps avoid wheel spin and loss of traction (Traction control™) as well as helping you to avoid skids or lateral slides (Electronic Stability Control). These features help you to maintain stability and steerability of your vehicle during a variety of road conditions. If your vehicle becomes stuck in the snow, mud or sand, try turning off the AdvanceTrac® system to allow wheel spin and help increase momentum to help dig the vehicle out. The system defaults to on and the control will illuminate when turned off. 10.  Hazard Flasher Control  Press to activate the front and rear direction signals. Press again to stop. 11.  Heated and Cooled Front seats  ress the desired seat P control (heated or cooled) once for high heat/cool (three indicator lights), twice for medium heat/cool (two indicator lights) or three times for low heat/cool (one indicator light). Press again to turn off. Essential Information Easy FueLTM 'NO CAP' Fuel Filler System Your vehicle has a 'no cap' fuel system which allows you to simply open the fuel filler door, insert the nozzle and start fueling. The Easy Fuel™ System is self-sealing and therefore protected against dust, dirt, water, snow and ice. If you need to fill your fuel tank with a portable fuel container, use the fuel funnel which is attached to the rear of the spare tire compartment. Slowly insert the funnel into the Easy Fuel™ system and fill the tank with fuel from the container. When done, clean the funnel or properly dispose of it. Extra funnels can be purchased from your authorized dealer. Do not use aftermarket funnels as they will not work with the Easy Fuel™ system and may cause damage. of your tires is significantly under-inflated. Warning: Improperly inflated tires can affect vehicle handling and can fail suddenly, possibly resulting in loss of vehicle control. Refer to the Tires, Wheels and Loading chapter in your Owner's Guide for more information. Fuses If the vehicle's electrical components are not operating, a fuse may have blown. The fuse panel is located below the instrument panel on the driver's side and additional fuses are located in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. This Quick Reference Guide was designed to quickly acquaint you with some of the features of your new Lincoln MKS. Your primary responsibility is the safe operation of your vehicle. Only use non-essential devices or features when it is safe to do so. 07 07 09 10 12.  SelectShiftTM Automatic Transmission  Your vehicle is equipped with a SelectShiftTM Automatic Transmission which allows you to manually change gears without using a clutch. Move the gearshift lever from the Drive position (D) into the Manual (M) position. To down shift, push the lever forward to the (-) position and release. To up shift, pull the lever rearward to the (+) position and release. 13. Power Rear Sunshade (if equipped)  Your vehicle may be equipped with a power rear sunshade that covers the rear window of your vehicle. Press the control to move the shade up or down. To stop motion at any time, press the control again. Fuel Type and Tank Capacity Front wheel drive vehicles have a 20 gallon (75.7 L) fuel tank capacity while All Wheel Drive vehicles have a 19 gallon (71.9L) fuel tank capacity. Your vehicle will run normally on 87 Octane Unleaded Regular fuel without damaging the engine, but Premium Unleaded fuel is recommended for best overall performance. Do not use gasoline labeled as "Regular" in high altitude areas that are sold with Octane ratings less than 87. Your vehicle was not designed to run on E85 fuels that are blended with a maximum of 85% ethanol. Changing the tires If you get a flat tire while driving, do not apply the brake heavily. Instead, gradually decrease your speed. Hold the steering wheel firmly and slowly move to a safe place on the side of the road. Your vehicle is equipped with a temporary spare tire. The temporary spare is designed for emergency use only. Replace this tire with a full-size tire as soon as possible. The spare tire and jack are located under the trunk cargo cover. Service Engine Soon Light  The Service Engine Soon illuminates light briefly when the ignition is turned on. If it remains on or is blinking after the engine is started, the On Board Diagnostics System (OBD-II) has detected a malfunction. Drive in a moderate fashion and have your Tire Pressure monitoring system Your tire pressure is properly set at the dealership according to the recommended specifications found on the Safety Compliance Certification Label or Tire Label located on the on the B-Pillar or the edge of the driver's door. Check your tire pressure at least once a month and before long trips (including spare, if equipped). As an added safety feature, your vehicle has been equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that illuminates a low tire pressure warning light when one or more Roadside Assistance Your new Lincoln MKS comes with the assurance and support of 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. Roadside assistance includes such services as: lockout assistance, limited fuel delivery, battery jump starts, changing a flat tire, towing, and winch out. To receive roadside assistance in the United States, call 1 (800) 241-3673. In Canada, call 1 (800) 665-2006. Multi-function lever  Rotate the end of the control up to increase the speed of the wipers and rotate down to decrease the speed of the wipers. This Quick Reference Guide was designed to quickly acquaint you
with some of the features of your new Lincoln MKS. For more
detailed information and important safety information, please
refer to your Owner’s Guide.

Soon Light
The Service Engine Soon
light
illuminates
briefly when the ignition
is turned on. If it remains
on or is blinking after
the engine is started,
the On Board Diagnos-
tics System (OBD-II) has
detected a malfunction.
Drive in a moderate
fashion and have your
vehicle serviced
immediately by an
authorized dealer.

Anti-lock Brake
System (ABS)
Warning Light
The ABS light
illuminates briefly when
the ignition is turned on.
If the ABS light remains
on or continues to flash,
a malfunction has been
detected. Have the system
serviced immediately by
your authorized dealer.

lever
Rotate the end of the
control up to increase

hold results in three
swipes with washer fluid
while a longer push and
hold activates the wash

five seconds.

EASY FUEL
TM
‘NO CAP’ FUEL
FILLER SYSTEM
Your vehicle has a ‘no cap’ fuel system which
allows you to simply open the fuel filler
door, insert the nozzle and start fueling.
The Easy Fuel™ System is self-sealing and
therefore protected against dust, dirt, water,
snow and ice. If you need to fill your fuel
tank with a portable fuel container, use the
fuel funnel which is attached to the rear of
the spare tire compartment. Slowly insert
the funnel into the Easy Fuel™ system and
fill the tank with fuel from the container.
When done, clean the funnel or properly
dispose of it. Extra funnels can be purchased
from your authorized dealer. Do not use
aftermarket funnels as they will not work
with the Easy Fuel™ system and may
cause damage.

Front wheel drive vehicles have a 20 gallon
(75.7 L) fuel tank capacity while All Wheel
Drive vehicles have a 19 gallon (71.9L) fuel
tank capacity. Your vehicle will run normally

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
