These lubricants are not to be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected, service required or the axle has been submerged in water. The axle lubricant should be changed anytime the axle has been submerged in water. Light and heavy duty truck rear axles filled with non-synthetic rear axle lubricant must be changed every 160,000 km (100,000 miles), otherwise the lubricant is not checked or changed unless a leak is suspected, service required or the axle has been submerged in water. The axle lubricant should be changed anytime the axle has been submerged in water. Police and Taxi Vehicles: Replace rear axle lubricant every 160,000 km (100,000 miles). Rear axle lubricant change may be waived if the axle lubricant was filled with 75W140 synthetic gear lubricant meeting Ford specification WSL-M2C192-A, meeting Ford specification F1TZ-19580-B or equivalent. Add four ounces of additive friction modifier C8AZ-19B546-A (EST-M2C118-A) or equivalent for complete refill of Traction-Lok rear axles. The rear axle lubricant should be changed anytime the axle has been submerged in water. 8,000 KILOMETERS (5,000 MILES) u Change engine oil and replace oil filter. u Rotate tires and adjust air pressure. (1) u Lubricate driveshaft U-joint if equipped with grease fittings and lubricate slip-yoke (if equipped). u Inspect exhaust sytem for leaks, damage or loose parts. Remove any foreign material trapped by exhaust system shielding. NOTE: It is normal for a certain amount of moisture and staining to be present around the muffler seams.
