Hood Release Tire Pressure Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center 16800 Executive Plaza Drive P.O. Box 6248 Dearborn, MI 48121 1-800-392-3673 (FORD) (TDD for the hearing impaired: 1-800-232-5952) All information contained in this Mercury Quick Reference Guide was accurate at the time of duplication. We reserve the right to change features, operation and/or functionality of any vehicle specification at any time. Your Mercury dealer is the best source for the most current information. Simply press AUTOMATIC and use the temperature controls to select the temperature you prefer. This system will then heat or cool to achieve that temperature, determining fan speed and airflow location. B C D Press the VENT manual override control to distribute the outside air through the instrument panel registers. G Adjust the tire pressure to the recommended specifications found on the certification label and inside the fuel door. When checking pressure, use an accurate tire pressure gauge. Check tire pressure when the tires are cold, after the vehicle has been parked for at least one hour or has been driven less than 3 miles. Warning: Improperly inflated tires can affect vehicle handling and can fail suddenly, possibly resulting in loss of vehicle control. The hood release handle is located below the instrument panel. Pull the handle toward you to release. From the front of your vehicle, release the auxiliary latch under the front center of the hood and lift until the lift cylinders hold it open. Press OFF to end Auto operation. Press the blue button for cooler air. Press OUTSIDE TEMP to display the outside temperature. Press the FLOOR manual override control to distribute air through the floor ducts. Press the FLR•DEF (defrost) manual override control to distribute outside air through the windshield defroster ducts, the floor ducts and the side window demisters. Press DEF (defrost) to distribute air through the windshield defroster ducts and side window demisters. The A/C compressor will operate automatically to clear ice and fog from the windshield. J I H Trunk Release / Fuel Door Your trunk release is located on the trim panel of the driver's door; press the control to open the trunk. To open your fuel door, press the fuel door control (located directly behind the trunk release). Exterior Mirrors Power Side View Mirrors To adjust these mirrors, select the left arrow to adjust the left mirror, the right arrow to adjust the right mirror. Move the control in the direction you'd like to adjust the mirror. Return to the center position to lock the mirrors in place. Heated Mirrors These mirrors warm up to remove ice, mist and fog when the rear window defrost is activated; attempting to remove ice from these mirrors by hand can damage the glass. Fold-Away Mirrors Pull the side mirrors in carefully when driving through a narrow space, like an automatic car wash. Tire Rotation Since Marauder's rear tires are larger than the front tires, rotations must be specific to each axle. In other words, the front tires are interchangeable only with the front tires and the rear tires are interchangeable only with the rear tires. Electronic Compass Located in the overhead console, this compass may be affected when you drive near large buildings, bridges, power lines and powerful broadcast antenna. To make compass adjustments, please see your Owner's Guide. How to Override Automatic Operation The manual override controls will allow you to personally select airflow locations and fan speed. To return to automatic control, press AUTOMATIC. Choosing the MAX A/C manual override control will distribute recirculated air through the instrument panel registers. MAX A/C is noisier than normal A/C, but more economical and efficient. Choosing the NORM A/C manual override control will distribute outside air through the instrument panel registers. It will only function if the outside temperature is above 43 degrees F. Normal A/C is more quiet than MAX A/C, but not as economical or efficient. NORM A/C should be used to defog windows. F E Roadside Assistance During your vehicle's 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty period, every new Mercury vehicle includes the assurance and support of a 24-hour emergency Roadside Assistance program. L K Aluminum Wheel Care Marauder's polished, forged aluminum wheel rims are coated with a clear coat finish. To maintain their shine, clean them with Detail Wash, which is available from your Mercury dealer. Press the red button for warmer air. To return to automatic control, press AUTOMATIC.
