first d ri v e f e a t u r e s STARTING/STOPPING THE ENGINE NOTE: It is important to make sure the NISSAN Intelligent Key® is with you (that is, in your pocket or purse). AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (if so equipped) Depress the brake pedal. • If the brake pedal is not depressed, pushing the ignition switch once will activate the ACC mode. • Pushing the ignition switch a second time will activate the ON mode. Move the shift lever to P (PARK). Press the ignition switch START/STOP button to start the engine. MANUAL TRANSMISSION (if so equipped) Depress the brake pedal. Move the shift lever to N (NEUTRAL). Depress the clutch pedal to the floor. • If the clutch pedal is not depressed, pushing the ignition switch once will activate the ACC mode. • Pushing the ignition switch a second time will activate the ON mode. Press the ignition switch START/STOP button to start the engine. TURNING THE ENGINE OFF For an automatic transmission, move the shift lever to the P (PARK) position, apply the parking brake and press the ignition switch START/STOP button to turn the engine off. For a manual transmission, move the shift lever to the N (NEUTRAL) position, apply the parking brake, place the vehicle in 1st gear and press the ignition switch START/STOP button to turn the engine off. EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUT OFF To shut off the engine in an emergency situation while driving, perform one of the following procedures: Rapidly push the push button ignition switch 3 consecutive times in less than 1.5 seconds, or Push and hold the push button ignition switch for more than 2 seconds.
