PRE-RIDE INSPECTION Before starting the engine, always check all of the items outlined on the following pages. WARNING Worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components may cause serious injury or death. Before starting the engine, check all Pre-Ride Inspection components to be sure of proper operation. Read and Understand Your Owner's Manual Read the Owner's Manual completely and refer to it often. We've attempted to provide as much information as possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable snowmobiling experience. Throttle Lever The throttle is one of the primary controls of your snowmobile. If it should malfunction, loss of control could result. Make sure the throttle lever compresses evenly and smoothly. The lever should immediately return to the idle position without binding or hesitation. If the throttle does not function smoothly, DO NOT start the engine. Have the throttle serviced immediately. Throttle Safety Switch Test the throttle safety switch system daily, before the machine is operated. See page 68. 56
